Friday Update

It has been such a great week! We enjoyed dressing up for Western Day, our skating field trip, and hot lunch/Knight Day. While the weather has been cold, it has also been great to be outside in the beautiful sunshine! This afternoon, we traded in our crayons for pencil crayons … I know this seems like a minor thing, but the excitement about this switch was incredibly high!

Dates to Remember:

Monday, November 25th – food drive begins

Friday, November 29th – pro-d day

No spelling list this week.

Bible Memory:

Galatians 5:22-23 – “But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control; against such, there is no law.”

Reminders and Other Information:

  • sight words – practice and return these – lots of you are not doing this, please make it a priority to practice and return them
  • Our annual food drive is set to begin on November 25th! This year our class has been paired up with the grade 4’s and our challenge is to bring in as many cans of tuna or canned meat as possible. Our team will be awarded 5 points for every can of tuna/meat brought in. All other food items will be given 1 point. If you prefer to send in money, each dollar will be awarded 5 points. December 18th will be the final day to donate. I love this fundraiser as it blesses children and families in our own communities!
  • Our Primary Christmas Concert will be held on December 19th at 1pm. This year the Grade Twos will be dressing up as wisemen. We will wear crowns (I will provide) and each student needs to wear their uniform, and bring a scarf. The scarf will be worn diagonally over their uniform.
  • Decorating Party – we will be have our classroom decorating party on Monday, December 2nd – in the afternoon (from 1-3pm) – I am in need of 4 or 5 parent volunteers that can come and help us with some crafts. Please let me know if you can come and help! I also need 2 parents who are willing to make sugar cookies and bring in icing for the cookies. Let me know if you are willing and able to help in any way!
