Pumpkin Patch

We had such a great time at the pumpkin patch! We were so thankful that it didn’t rain. Thanks to the parents who joined us and helped out while we were in the corn maze.

Weekly Update!

We had a busy week in Grade Two! We had our first assembly about Healthy Eating with Miss Stark, as well as After School Clubs where we did a Thanksgiving theme. Thanks to all the students who stayed and participated, it was a great time!

Dates to remember for next week:

Monday, October 12th – No School – Thanksgiving

Tuesday, October 13th – Pumpkin Patch/Corn Maze field trip. This is a RAIN or SHINE field trip, please make sure you dress for the weather! Parents are welcome to join us, you will be asked to pay at the Corn Maze

Wednesday, October 14th – Full Dress Uniform starts – Full dress uniforms is pants and sweaters for boys and tunics and sweaters for girls.

Thursday, October 15th – Photo Re-takes

This will be our last week of a short list. List will be introduced on Tuesday, October 13th and tested on Friday, October 16th.

Scholastic Orders

I sent home Scholastic Orders today. Two things to remember when ordering from Scholastic:

  1. Please write checks only, I cannot send cash in the mail
  2. Return to the classroom, not the office

 

Weekly Update!

Hello All!

It has been a busy and fun-filled week with Knight Day, Terry Fox Run, and the start of Running Club. We also tested some predictions we had made in Science and worked on drawing what we imagined as we listened to a story.

I am writing this weekly update on Thursday because I am going to be away tomorrow, but I wanted to let you all know that typically I am going to post updates on Friday afternoons. Many of you have been asking about being able to subscribe to my blog and receive emails every time I post,  and I am currently waiting on the ability to do just that. I will let you know when you are able to.

Other Reminders:

Wednesday, September 30th, we will have our first Knight Day. Students have the option of wearing jeans and a Knight t-shirt. This is an optional activity and students are free to wear their uniforms if they prefer. If you are new to HRA or need a new Knight shirt, they will be available for purchase for $10 in the school lobby on Tuesday after school and on Wednesday morning.

Also on Wednesday, September 30th, we will be having our annual Terry Fox run at school. If you would like to donate “Toonies for Terry” to be used for cancer research, it would be much appreciated!

Welcome!

Welcome! I’m so happy to have the blog up and running, as I’m sure all of you are as well! Thank you for all your patience and understanding. Make sure you check back here for important information, as this is where I will post it.

We have had a great start in Grade Two and I am very excited to spend this year with your children. The first couple of weeks we have been busy learning rules and routines in the classroom, as well as reviewing some important concepts from last year. To help your child kick the year off right, it would be beneficial to practice phonograms, as well as addition and subtraction facts to 20.

September 21st – Parent Night – 7pm in the Chapel

September 30th – Knight Day

September 30th – Toonies for Terry – We will be doing our annual Terry Fox Run. Students are invited to bring a Toonie to donate to the Terry Fox Foundation.

– We will be starting with our spelling lists on Monday. I will be starting them off with just 10 words. Spelling list will be introduced on Monday, September 21st and tested on Friday, September 25th.

Some reminders about uniforms:

– Full Dress uniform starts in October and we wear our full uniforms on Wednesdays. This means tunics and sweaters for the girls and pants and sweaters for the boys.

– Winter Uniform begins on November 1st and that means that the students will no longer be wearing shorts to school.
