That’s a Wrap!

Well, that’s a wrap! Hard to believe this year has come and gone. It has been such a privilege to teach your children this year. They were such a wonderful bunch and we had so much fun together. I am so proud of each and everyone of them for all the hard work they put in, and for all of their achievements. It is a delight to watch them grow in leaps and bounds, and in all areas!

Thank you so much for all the gifts and kind words that have been shared with me here at the end. I was truly blessed!

I pray you all have a wonderful summer, soaking in the sun and enjoying some rest and family time ๐Ÿ™‚

Friday Update

Well, we are in the home stretch, as we enter June next week. There are many things going on, lots to finish up and complete, and so much excitement and exhaustion as we enter into these last couple weeks. We have been talking about perseverance in chapel this last month, and we have been talking about persevering to the end of the school year. The countdown has continued to help motivate us in this: Monday we did some M&M math, Tuesday we cooled down with a refreshing drink at lunch, Wednesday we had rock, paper, scissor tournaments, Thursday we had lunch with our buddies, and Friday was a Minute-to-Win-It Games afternoon. Our games afternoon was a lot of fun, there was a lot of cheering and friendly competition going on!ย  I also just want to make sure that I acknowledge how proud I am of all of the Grade 2’s for the hard work that they put into the Spring Sing! They did such an amazing job, and it’s always such a blessing to watch them worship. The night, while for some of them was really long, and kept them up way past bedtime, was great. Thanks for joining us in that time together.

Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Weekly Update

It has been an exciting week in Grade 2, with Crazy Hat Day on Tuesday (of which their was a lot of fun and creative hats!!), and the beginning of our Summer Countdown. Up on our bulletin board we have balloons, and everyday we will pop one and inside is something special for us. Our first balloon pop was working with a partner all day long. They loved being able to do their math together, and working on their stories together, sharing ideas and enjoyment of their partners work. The next day was extra DPA. The excitement of a long weekend was also very evident by the end of the week ๐Ÿ™‚ We have been continuing to work hard on our Science Reports, as well as our creative stories. It has been fun to see everyone get excited as they work and learn through these two bigger assignments. Have a great long weekend, everyone!

Weekly Update

This week we talked about Stranger Danger, and the importance of knowing who safe people in our community are, as well as what to do when we find ourselves in different situations. We were told that it is ok to ignore or walk away from adults when we are alone and a stranger approaches us, and that even though most people are kind and thoughtful, we actually just don’t know, so we need to make smart decisions every time. We also had our First Nation’s Cultural Day where the students rotated around to different classrooms and activities. Some of the highlights were trying bannock and playing a Hunter and Gatherer’s game. And we ended the week off with a movie afternoon, watching Charlotte’s Web. We just finished reading the book together as a class, and enjoyed the movie as well ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, enjoying the sunshine ๐Ÿ™‚
