Reminders and Other Information:

Just a few things to get us started for the year. I sent home a newsletter, and some of this information was on there, but some of this is new also.

  • If you have not yet brought in kleenex boxes, paint shirt and gym shoes, please do so as soon as possible
  • A Criminal record check will be MANDATORY to be in the classroom or to participate in field trips, please make sure you have these on file at the office, or get the process started right away
  • Water bottles – I would encourage each student to have a water bottle … we don’t have a water fountain in the classroom, so it is important that they have a way to have a drink when hot and thirsty
  • Planners have gone home and this will be a very effective way to communicate back and forth – I check it each morning, Please be sure to bring it to school EVERY day.
  • Emergency Kits – some parents have been asking about these … information about putting these together will be coming home with your student next week.
  • Student Information form went home with your child today – please fill it out and return it to the school office ASAP! It is important for us to have these details on file for your child.

I post on my blog every Friday about what is going on in the week ahead, as well as all other important information that you will need. Please make sure you refer to the blog for all the details.

That’s a Wrap!

Hard to believe it, but that’s it. We made it!

I was abundantly blessed by so many of you over the past few days. Thank you so much for all the kind words, and hugs, and all the gifts.

I have loved teaching your children and getting to know them, as well as so many of you parents this year. I pray you have a wonderful summer vacation, and we will see you again in September!

Waterslides Update

Hi Parents,

We have heard that their is a possibility that the Waterslides are closed today, due to maintenance issues. We are looking into it and are working on an alternate plan if this is the case. Please be patient and flexible with us as we figure it all out.

Thanks for your understanding!

Clear Up a Misunderstanding

Hey parents,

I just need to clear up a misunderstanding. Today was a bit of a frustrating and emotional day for me (not because of anything the students were doing), and so the kids saw that I was upset, and just having a difficult time. I just want to make it clear that I did NOT lose anyone in my family or close to me. I am tired, and I’m emotional. But I am absolutely OK. There is no need to be concerned about me, although I appreciate that you all are. I don’t know where the rumour started that my parents had been in an accident or anything, I simply told them I was having a hard day, as we all do sometimes. Had I realized they thought it was something so big, I would have addressed this with the class. I’m sorry for any misunderstanding. I will talk to the kids tomorrow and make sure they know that I am alright. It’s not every day they see the raw emotion of a hard day for me, but that is what today was. I hope this clears up any misunderstanding and concern, thanks.

Show N’ Share

You are invited to our: Show N’ Share Afternoon on June 14th

From 2:30 until 3:00pm you are invited to drop in and see how hard your child has been working! They have been working on science reports and story writing and they want to share it with you! Please come, drop in, and see all of their hard work!

Fun Day Volunteers

On Wednesday, June 20th we have our annual K-3 Fun Day! I am looking for two parent volunteers that would be able to come and run a station for me for the entire morning. We will be starting just before 9:30 and will be done by noon. Please email me and let me know if you can help me out! Due to the crazy and chaotic nature of so many children in the gym already, I’m going to ask that younger siblings are not present if you volunteer to help out with this day. Thanks!

Friday Update

Can you believe it? Is the end really just around the corner?? I’m having a hard time believing it, but we are definitely all ready for the break! We have continued our countdown … Lunch with our big buddies, they got to replace an academic block (they chose science) with a coloring block, quiet reading outside in the sunshine with friends, a movie afternoon, and

Bible Memory:

Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us. And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us. Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Saviour of the world.
