Those of you working from home this week, here is the picture prompt for the writing activity.
Also, forgot to mention … Spring Sing recording has been cancelled for tomorrow so students can wear uniforms to school. Thanks!
Good evening everyone. I hope all of you were able to make it out to the meeting this evening and get the latest update from Stuart about everything that is going on and how we are planning to navigate these latest challenges. While it has been a difficult week, we were reminded this morning in our meetings that we have so much to be grateful for still, and that we will get through this together. God is still sovereign, he is on his throne and we can trust him to carry us through. So no matter where you are at as a family with all of this, lean into his strength, and we will just keep taking one day at a time.
So while I will make some announcements or plans here for you all, please keep in mind that everything is fluid and things are constantly changing on us.
As we work through these recent challenges, there are several ways that you, as parents, can help us out! First of all, we would like to continue to strongly encourage you to drop-off as close to the 8:45 time as possible. For after school, students need to be picked up before 3:15 at the very latest so we can minimize the congregating of parents and students on the school property.

Hey everyone! This is coming out to you a little earlier today because I am not actually working today. I am not sick, I have just taken a day off for myself.
This has been a great week, with lots of fun things going on. Among the favourites was our Measurement Olympics. We spent 3 days wrapping up our measurement unit in Math with the Olympics – Measurement Style. It was a great way for them to put all of the skills they have been learning into practice, and they all seemed to enjoy it a lot.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and that you can enjoy the sunshine before the potential rain next week!

We have had a solid week in Grade 2. We had Superhero/Starwars day on Tuesday, which was enjoyed by many. We also invited Mr. Morris to our classroom on Friday. We had spent some time working on a writing piece about ‘If I was Principal for a Day’ and so they each read their writing piece to Mr. Morris and we put them together as a book for him. Watch in the near future for some wild and crazy changes, I’m sure he will take many of the suggestions, well the Grade 2’s can hope anyways! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

It has been such a beautiful week! We have sure enjoyed having the sunshine each day 🙂 We have been spending a lot of time laying the groundwork to do some story writing of our own, and there are definitely some creative ideas coming out! I’m looking forward to seeing this come together for each of them. We have also continued learning about measurement in Math, working on our novel studies, and going through the Fruit of the Spirit in Bible. Interims went home today, so be sure to check your child’s planner!

Short weeks often feel like such long weeks. But while this week has felt long, it has been a great week. We had our assembly about Stranger Danger in class, learning about how to keep safe and what to do if we need help. We also started a new unit in math on measurement. We learned the rules to measure something properly and then lots of practice around the room with both standard and nonstandard units. It was also the first time in quite a while that we have written our Friday letters, so please remember to respond to them! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
