Clarification

I just need to make a clarification, sorry. When I ask each student to bring a toilet paper roll, I meant a full toilet paper roll … not empty ones. Sorry for any confusion this caused. We need this for Thursday. Thanks.

  • As mentioned above, connect with Kathy at the office if you would like to set up a time to meet with me during Parent-Teacher interviews (3:30-6:30pm)
  • I sent home a Newsletter about the Zones of Regulation. This is a new program we are implementing in the Primary department and I wanted you to see what it is all about. It has really helped the students be able to identify how they are feeling, but it also helps them to understand how I am feeling. If they come home talking about the zones, I thought it might be helpful for you to have an understanding of what they are referring to 🙂

When I call, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength. All the kings of the earth shall give you thanks, O Lord, for they have heard the words of your mouth. And they will sing of the ways of the Lord, for great is the glory of the Lord. For though the Lord is exalted, yet he regards the lowly. But the haughty he knows from afar. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you will revive me; you will stretch forth your hand against the wrath of my enemies and your right hand will save me. The Lord will accomplish what concerns me; Your lovingkindness, O Lord, is everlasting; Do not forsake the works of your hands.”

Friday Update

A great week for sure! It started off a little chaotic on Monday with a scheduled Lockdown drill, in which the students all did a great job sitting quietly until we were released, even though we do tend to find it a little unnerving. What was unexpected was the Fire alarm going off almost immediately after we were released from lockdown. With confusion on their faces, they were immediately attentive and listened to instructions, which I was pleased with. As we were waiting outside for the Fire Department to arrive, standing in a line, trying to keep warm, one little comes over to me and says, “I really hope the school isn’t on fire, we haven’t finished our spelling list yet!” This made me chuckle as I thought, if the building is on fire, our spelling list isn’t really a top priority at this moment … oh so sweet!

On Wednesday we had a special guest from the Chilliwack Museum come for a visit. The kids found it very interesting to look at pictures, comparing the past with the present, as well as have some hands on experience with different artifacts from the past. We really enjoyed the time she came and spent teaching us.

And finally, we ended off the week with our Remembrance Day Assembly. It was a beautiful service honouring those who fought for our country. Such a blessing!

Dates to Remember:

Monday, November 13th – School Closed

Spelling and Phonograms:

No Phonograms or spelling list due to the short week. Enjoy a break 🙂

Bible Memory:

Psalm 138:1-7

“I will give You thanks with all my heart; I will sing praises to You before the gods. I will bow down toward Your holy temple and give thanks to Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word according to all Your name. ”

Reminders and Other Information:

  • Home Reading – bring in your book on your assigned day
